Topic: After 8+ months E3D v6 clogs 4 times in 2 days

Waiting for it to cool so I can clear another clog.  All was fine for near the last 8-9 months til last week.  I decided to clean up all the fan wires and make it neater.  Made a bit of a buss bar and after some help from here got it all working again.  Never touched the machine, just the fans.  Took my time re-calibrating everything, and have now cleared 4 clogs with 3 different filaments in 2 days.  Have followed the instructions reassembling the E3D, but while I'm still trying to adjust the deck height, it clogs.  It only takes 10 - 15 min.   Running 180 - 80 with PLA, as I have for many months.  Deck & extruder temps remain relatively constant and within their parameters.  The first time I send it to print a calibration box, it is wrong (still trying to adjust) - kill the print - readjust the deck height - bring the temp back up - Clogged!  It has never done this before.
The only thing I can see that may be out of whack is the 30mm E3D fan has been a little low, seems to be hanging off the bottom a little & blowing on the heat element & nozzle.  I will correct that on the next try.

Yesterday one of the clogs was after the PTFE tube and before the heat break.

Open for suggestions here!!

There shouldn't be any room between the PTFE and the heatbreak for a clog... the PTFE should go into the heatbreak.

I realize that.  Thats' why it was strange.  Luckily I had enough unused tube to replace it.  The tube sticks up as recommended, almost to the base of the bearings on the extruder motor.  And again, none of that had been touched, until it clogged.  I will reassemble it again here in maybe an hour or so, and we'll try again!

Is the fan on the E3D still connected directly to a 12 volt source of power, or is on a PWM header?

All is well in Muddville!

I inadvertently let the 30mm E3D stock fan move down, exposing probably 2 or so full sized cooling fins of the E3D barrel.  The position must have been enough to cool the filament to where is clogged.
I've been merrily printing - adjusting - printing.... Heat off - on - off - on....  So far all seems well!!
Jagowilson mentioned something similar in a today post about an additional E3d material fan.  From experience - be mindful where the cool airflow goes...

Good catch!  I'll keep this in mind for whenever I put on my E3D.
