Topic: Infill Rough Problem

The 1st layer of infill is rough, choppy, bumpy. The perimeters are smooth.
Subsequent infill layers drag thru, smoothing somewhat.
Top infill not as rough, 60 grit sandpaper rough. Perimeters are smooth.

Re: Infill Rough Problem

Could it be your Z offset?? looking at that your nozzle would be 0.1mm in to your job which could cause it???

Just a suggestion I'm more clued up on CNC Milling so might be wrong.. only started this hobby of mine in November/December so still learning

Re: Infill Rough Problem

A negative Z offset means your nozzle is moving closer to the print bed to start with.  The smaller gap between the nozzle and the bed is causing material to be squeezed out, overlapping each other and causes lumps/clumps.  This goes away after the 2nd layer.

Re: Infill Rough Problem

I run my filament at 240 degrees C and bed at 85 degrees C and seem to get really good results from it

Re: Infill Rough Problem

Are you sure the Z offset is for the first layer only?? Normally there's a separate one for the 1st layer also is the repetier firmware any good? Is there any links I could read up on it might want to flash my printer to that but unsure on it

Re: Infill Rough Problem

Z offset is only for the start of the print.

Re: Infill Rough Problem

Yes youre correct  - Z offset wrong way.

But it had a problem I wasnt aware of.

First off, the heated glass cracked.
While adjusting the bed, after a new glass,  had a prob w/ the RS adjuster.
The bed would adjust, but after a 2nd calibration it was off.
Removed the bed The threaded adjusting stud was loose.
Underneath, the nut that locks it into place had loosened out its holder.
Tighten all studs and locked w/ super glue.

Printed a 20mm box - perfect. No Z offset.
