Topic: Need Suggestion for Fast curing adhesive

Hello All,

I am tring to find a fast curing epoxy or any adhesive that will also withstand high temperature (upto 350 deg C)

Purpose: to bond two metals, which will be heating to a high temperature (brass/bronze/stainless steel)

Other suggestions are also welcome

Re: Need Suggestion for Fast curing adhesive

Welding or brazing those materials together would offer fast curing times and will easily withstand those temps wink

Re: Need Suggestion for Fast curing adhesive

Thanks, I thought of this.

But the surface I am trying to bond is very small. Leads than a cm in any direction

I am trying to bond a needle on a pipe fitting. Do you think it will still work ?

What are you trying to do?

Re: Need Suggestion for Fast curing adhesive

Am trying to put a syringe needle inside a Hole of pipe plug,
The needle has a head that will sit on surface of the plug.
So bond the top surface of the plug and bottom surface of the needle head together

Re: Need Suggestion for Fast curing adhesive

Don't use an adhesive. Use a thermal interference fit. Drill a hole in the pipe plug just smaller than the needle, heat the pipe plug, freeze the needle, insert.

Also, what are you trying to accomplish? There is probably a better way.

Re: Need Suggestion for Fast curing adhesive

Thanks. I can try that.

I have to inject some fluids inside a steel pipe, for a medical application. The pipe will be subjected to heat. Using a syringe pump to feed measured quantities of chemicals in parts during the process. There are other special systems available. But they are slightly expensive to do prelim testing at a cheap cost.

So, I plugged the pipe tight with a solid pipe plug, now i have to put a hole and insert the needle and fix it to be airtight.

Re: Need Suggestion for Fast curing adhesive

You could possibly try an anaerobic adhesive such as red loctite.  It probably wouldn't be consistent enough for normal use but may get you into early testing quickly.
