Topic: how do you swap extruder motor direction?

my extruder motor turns the wrong way on my new printer and I was wondering if instead of turning it around it I could swap some wires. Is that possible? I tried swapping red and black and that didnt work the motor just growled.

Just flip the entire plug 180 on the board if it will still fit or otherwise there is a line in the firmware where you can change it.  Open the firmware in arduino and hit CTRL+F and search for "invert" and you should see it.  Then just reflash.
