Re: PID tuning heatbed fail, "timeout"... what?

I know almost nothing about chemistry, nor have I ever used hairspray (on my hair), so dunno.
Except I think we've all done this at some point:

I'll look into other hairspray brands I can find and look up their ingridients on the box.
And try the ABS slurry.

This one sticks the filament to the hot glass besides the parts that lift, so I guess its not completely useless and not doing nothing at all... or is it?

EDIT: Okay, this hairspray doesn't work for sticking glass to aluminum bed. Tried several coats and to 110C and back. Really poor adhesion that I could unstick with one finger.

Re: PID tuning heatbed fail, "timeout"... what?

Also want to try the brim, but this is what I get:

There's a gap in the middle of the brim. I set 5mm for brim. And no, that's not skirt, skirt is default 1 loop...
Looks like this with every STL I try. Slic3r 1.1.7

Re: PID tuning heatbed fail, "timeout"... what?

Try 0 loops for skirt...

SD2 - Stock - Enclosure - Heated Bed - Glass Plate - Auto Fire Extinguisher
Ord Bot Hadron - RAMPS 1.4 - Bulldog XL - E3D v6 - 10" x 10" PCB Heated Build w/SSR - Glass Plate

Re: PID tuning heatbed fail, "timeout"... what?

That did the trick, I guess its a bug and doesn't make much sense to have a skirt with a brim.

I also asked few other places abut what hairspray to use and thought I'd share the info here.

Someone said "Garnier Fructis Style extreme hold 5" works well.

Someone else recommended "Rave 4X Mega"
http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=HN.607997323226252128&pid=15.1&H=160&W=160

Ingredients

SD Alcohol 40-B (Alcohol Denat.) , Water (Aqua) , Acrylates Copolymer , VA , Crotonates Vinyl Neodecanoate Copolymer , Aminomethyl Propanol , Fragrance , Diethylhexyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate , Sodium Benzoate , PEG , PPG-20 , 15 Dimethicone , Cyclopentasiloxane , Benzophenone 4 , Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) , Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

And
"Aquanet and liquid PVA glue active ingredient - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyvinyl_acetate
"
Looks like also something in wood glues and some glue sticks. Maybe my glue stick doesn't contain it which would explain why it didn't work at all.
