Topic: Press replacement nozzle

Does anyone have details on the correct replacement nozzle for the press?  Does it share nozzle with any other common printers?  I've managed to clog mine up already.

Re: Press replacement nozzle

There a group of people installing E3Dv6 nozzles for the press. You can find the whole thread and convo here  soliforum.com/topic/9709/e3dv6-on-solidoodle-press/

That is the whole hot end though, not just the nozzle.

Re: Press replacement nozzle

I wouldn't think you'd need to replace it for a clog, although I'm a noob too.  I've clogged my Press several times so far but I've been able to clear it every time with a piece of stiff copper wire.  I push it straight down from above like it was a piece of filament, I can usually force it to extrude a bit of melted ABS then pull the wire out and it will have a glob of ABS on it.  I clean the wire and repeat, letting it have some time to heat up in there and prodding/scraping around with it.

Sometimes it takes several tries before I can get the filament to feed again, but I've never not been able to clear it.

Re: Press replacement nozzle

It looks like its just a standard M6 threaded nozzle. If that's the case, these should work nicely:

Can anyone confirm these nozzles work?

I'm looking to use a hardened nozzle for more abrasive printing materials.

See posts 15 & 17 at http://www.soliforum.com/topic/9996/spa … the-press/ . I've also put up a photo of the original nozzle in #10 at http://www.soliforum.com/topic/10440/ex … -clogging/ where you can see the conical shape at the top of the nozzle. This shape is important to mating with the heat break inside the aluminum block.

I just got my E3Dv6 conversion finished a couple days ago (printing again at least, needs more calibration). Lack of reliable spare parts was a big reason for me to convert.
