All the issues with new Press

OK I got my new press, and cant get a print out of it. I saw the topic with all the issues and fixes but I have some extra issues that are just as important.

ISSUE 1 - The filament stops feeding and the head seems to increase in speed substantially after about the 3-5 layer (hard to tell) is laid down. Whats causing this and how can I correct it?

ISSUE 2 - There appears to be UI's: Soliprint and Repetier-Host Solidoodle. Which one do I use? Neither seems to work fully. Soliprint looks more  user friendly but the other seems to have more controls. If anyone can help it would be truly appreciated.
