How do you get the most even coloring? I have the pellets, so I want to be able to use those, I've seen people say that the color isn't always that even though with the pellets, so what's the best way to make it even? Also where do you get the powdered colors from?
This has been covered several times. The approaches are:
- assemble properly
- use quality colorant designed for the material you're extruding
- use a burr grinder to reduce the colorant size
- mix at high concentration (4:1), extrude, pelletize, mix with virgin material at closer to 10:1, extrude
I've been reading through the forums and have seen people say that the grinder doesn't really work very well. If you know of one that does work, it'd be great if you could let me know the brand/model.
I saw something about liquid colorants, do those work well? Where can I order those and the powder colorants.
