Are you sure you're posting to the correct topic?
He has an SD3 and is having some calibration issues.
Your posts would be helpful if he had a workbench such as yourself.
i guess not then
so I fixed my issues, lol I just switched to PLA instead. lol
ABS sux
ABS is king you should get it working ![]()
so its printing well with ABS, but the resolution of the layers is horrible. they are rough.
any ideas why this is happening.

Pics?
This could be a number of things, many being quite simple fixes
here is the layers in .3 they are rough not stacking well,
almost like there is a little banding. I only remember the term not what causes it,
its not z band because I have my slop nut in place
Then set your first layer height in your slic3r profile to .2963 set other layers to that same number. Then try a print and stop it right after it makes the first loop.
what should I set them for .1 and .2 settings?

Use this calculator
http://prusaprinters.org/calculator/#steppers
Scroll down to optimal layer height for z axis and select 5/16-18 as the pitch preset. The z motor is 1.8 step angle so leave that at its default.

I have no idea what any of these numbers are for an SD3
All you have to do is fill it out like I described. See attached image. This is for .1mm layer height.
so I want to use the .09878 or the .1058?
Doesn't matter. Id go with the larger one just because fewer layers = shorter printing time.

so any ideas on this question?
its from a previous post of mine.
