Topic: Mac program to print on Da Vinci 1.0

Hello,

I have a mac connected to my Da Vinci 1.0 and I want a program to print with. (Besides XYZware) I have heard that Simplify3D works, but I don't want to spend $150 money on something that I can't try first. I have the stock firmware on the 3D printer and I want to keep it on there. And one other thing, I don't want to void my warranty.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Simplify 3D says they have a mac version and their site says the software works with this printer.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Do you have any other ideas beside Simplify3D?

The easiest way to bypass the filament counter in order to use 3rd part filament is to switch the firmware to 1.1.E and use the hacked xyzware software (which is way better than the official version anyway)...

Where could I get that software for mac?

Thanks,
Andrew

You buy it from their site. Just Google Simplify 3D. During your purchase you get to choose which version you need.

Re: Mac program to print on Da Vinci 1.0

I'm not aware of any that will allow you to control the printer without first changing to custom firmware.
There are plenty of slicers to choose from though such as Cura, Craftware and Slic3r.

I have checked all of the software out there, only S3D and Repetier Host along with stock will operate it directly. Nothing else works.

CraftWare does not work, but I have one question: (I know this is totally off topic, but..) How do downgrade my Da Vinci to 1.1J without voiding my warranty? smile

Thanks,

Re: Mac program to print on Da Vinci 1.0

That would be the same one, you can upgrade or downgrade the flash or even use Repetier on it, they won't know as long as you put the latest or close to latest on it if you need to return it. It is not like a phone that flips a bit when you change the firmware.
