Topic: Proper way to change filament in repetier host?

New to repetier host here. How do I change my filament?  Is there a correct way?

Connect to the printer, go to manual tab, heat extruder to set temp. Once heated use manual extrude button at 100mm in reverse, or just use the release lever on the head and pull the filament out. The main thing is to make sure it is at full temp.

How do I just get it to temp without running a print job?
