Topic: SD3 nozzle wiper design (new i think)

Just put this up on thingverse
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:131656

All i need now is help with the startup Gcode so that it will run with all my print jobs.
The idea is this:
Wait until everything is up to temp
Extrude a little filament
Run the nozzle over the top of the wiper wire to clean it
retract a little so it doesn't ooz before it starts the print
start the print.

I used a .011" guitar string for the wire.  I have a .009" that i may put on later.
Anyone want to help with the gcode?

If you have any ideas on how to make this work better please speak up.  Or if you thinks a poor idea, please let me know that also

This looks really handy, I think it will be tonight's print job smile Saves me ducking in with the tweezers at the start of each job.

I really like this. I don't have the same printer. What firmware do you use and did you ever work out the code?

I like a row of pipe cleaners instead of a single wire. Here's my cleaner for my SD2 (but there is openscad source so it could probably be scaled up).
It evolved over time so there are several versions, newcleaner.stl and newcleaner.scad are the ones for the latest version.

I've got the start code I use at the bottom of my web page at:

have you tried just using an extrude anchor G-code line to clean the nozzle pre-print?

SD2 with E3D, SD Press, Form 1+
