Topic: You need Simplify3d, heres why...
So I am the last davinci owner on the planet I think that has not modded, changed or hacked my davinci. I use 1.2.5 firmware, and xyzware and on top of that I only bought xyz filament. My latest purchase is a spool of white from Studica.com. So I go to print and I get an error on my pc telling me that I don't have a real cart and I need to go buy a real xyz cart.
Of course, the print is blocked and I cannot print anything. The only reason I finally was able to print is because I disconnected my pc from the internet and prevented xyzware from performing its check. I am seriously considering legal action due to xyz remotely preventing me from using my printer.
In the mean time I decidced to dump the xyzware and bought Simply3d. Not only can I now print using whatever I want and when I want, but my prints actually come out better! Mind you, I did not change the firmware on the printer, just the software on my pc.
Now I did contact customer support, and it is very apparent they have no idea what the issue is, that its happeneing, or how to manage their own systems.

Please send us a screenshot copy of your purchase invoice and advise us your total printing hours.
Regarding your issue,
Please put the cartridge locker in place.
Kindly send us a photo of the LCD showing the cartridge error.
Kindly send us also a photo of the filament info. and advise us how many grams it is.
Please kindly drop also the filament cartridge gently where it is 3cm above the detective pin.

I no longer have my purchase invoice. It is long gone over a year ago. Why do you need to know my printing hours? it makes no difference to this issue.
I took out the cartridge locker so I could photograph the cart serial number for you to see that it is in place and an official XYZ filament. Don't insult me further by assuming I did not put the locker back in place after taking the picture. I am not an idiot.
Why would I take a picture of the LCD when its your XYZware that's telling me the cart is not a valid cart? The Printer took the cart and loaded it just fine, its your pathetic software that's thinking I am tyring to cheat you not the printer. As far as how many grams the cart is, well its 600grams, as I have yet to print anything with it because your XYZware REFUSES TO SEE IT AS YOUR OWN FILAMENT.
Now re-read the message again, realize what the issue is and fix this situation.

Please check whether the detective board pin has any damage or dirt that is why you’re cartridge cannot be detected by the printer.

This is my last reply to this, as it is apparent you have no idea what the issue is or what you are reading.
I will use all caps to make this crystal clear:
THE PRINTER SEES THE CARTDRIGE JUST FINE AND REPORTS ITS HAS ABS, FULL CAPACITY AND THE CART SERIAL NUMBER. AGAIN, THE PRINTER SEES THE CART JUST FINE AND THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH LOADING THE FILAMENT.
THE ISSUE IS WITH YOUR XYZWARE.EXE PROGRAM WHICH IS CHECKING THE CART SERIAL # WITH YOUR SERVERS AND THINKS THIS IS NOT A VALID CART AND REFUSES TO SEND PRINTS TO THE PRINTER.
have I made this clear?

I have been inconvenienced.
ok, since your reply had a picture in it, and you botched putting it in it, I have no idea what you were trying to show me. I took a pic of the about screen, the error that pops up and the info windows of the machine screen. I will note that I did manage to actually make the print I needed to make, but I had to unplug the computer from the internet so it could not validate the sn of the cart. Seems there's a ton of people having this issue, and it is a fault with your servers not recognizing legitimate filament cartridges'.
