Topic: Advice changing filament mid print

Hi all,

I am currently mid print (about a 12 hour long print), and I underestimated the amount of filament that was left on the spool (stupid me).  I've been reading a bit online on techniques, and I think I understand what to do, but I just want to make sure.

I am using Simplify3D.  From what I understand, I should pause the print (preferably during infill), lower the bed, retract filament, insert new filament.  Then extrude a bit to get it primed (with something under the nozzle to catch it).  The part I have a question about is should I raise the bed back to where it was prior to pausing?  Or is Simplify3D smart enough to know the coordinates that it should go to.

It is smart enough to know where to start back up as long as you don't move things with your hands during the filament change.
