Topic: 2.85mm Filastruder Users- What nozzle size has worked the best?

Does the standard 3mm Filastruder nozzle produce 2.85mm, or has anyone drilled out their nozzle and found better results? I am starting to experiment with 3mm so thanks!

Also, what are the major differences in extruding and filawinding 2.85mm?

Ulitmaker 2, a few repraps, Custom Big FFF 3D printer with heated chamber.

Standard nozzle can do 3mm or 2.85mm depending on extrusion temperature and height from the floor/bottom of the loop. It is drilled to 2.77mm.

Extruding: Not much difference. Filawinding: You'll need to move the PTFE holder further away so the servo doesn't have to flex the filament as much to move it back and forth on the spool.

I drilled mine out to give me faster extrusion.  Temperature also affects diameter.

I have mine mounted vertically which tends to make the filament thinner.  I have gradually drilled mine out to 3.2mm.  I try to keep my filament between 2.9 and 3.0 mm.

I'm currently extruding black ABS and am getting a little over 3 in / min.

I just bought my filastruder and have a Ultimaker, so I would like to make 3.0mm filament with ABS MG-94, do you have any recomendation for the first test?
