Topic: part finishing using spray canister mod

after a moment of childish tinkering over weekend i got curious about the idea of finishing 3d printed parts with wax to create a smooth finish for aesthetic pieces.

Dipping proves problematic due to getting an even coat which leads me to think... if you could create a heated storage chamber and spray nozzle to coat the part with a fine layer?

has anyone comes across this before?

SD2 - mirror bed - e3d v6 - extruder cooling fan - no enclosure.

Heated storage chamber sounds like potential pipe bomb.

But I had some success with using a mechanics solvent sprayer ($50-60), unheated. I used acetone and 100PSI air and between 80-100psi got a nice spray out of the device.  Haven't tested it enough, but there are some downsides.

Talking about nichrome wire around a paint spray can to keep the wax molten

Why not just use a dry brush sprayer with solvent in it? you could maximize the amount of acetone you use, just make sure to use it in a well ventilated area...
