Topic: had my nozzle clog in a bad way

so I took the extruder and all off. The brass piece wont even separate from the black plastic piece. This is off a solidoodle 3. Can someone send me the link for the upgraded extruder. I should bought it already I think this one is shot. Also can someone show me how to adjust what ever I need to to fit it.

Solidoodle states that their hotends are not user-repairable.

Sounds like its time for an E3D.

can you tell me what I'm going to have to do to adapt it to my SD3? I just went ahead and ordered it. Probably time for it anyway.

You need a Lawsy MK6 for E3Dv6 mount if you don't have one already, and to flash the firmware to use the new temperature sensor. Plenty of threads on both here on the forums.

Follow E3D's instructions on their website for assembly, and these instructions to update the firmware:

flashing the board will be the adventure. my board says Sanguinolou rev1.3a. Not sure what that means but as far as having to flash the board does that affect much?

When you get to that point I'd be willing to help you through the steps.  I have flashed that rev many times and it is a bit mor complicated than say the older Sangs.

I tried to take my SD4 hotend apart when it broke and they aren't lying about it being almost impossible to repair--my nozzle shattered into a few pieces when I went at it hot with a wrench. Stupid thing. tongue And yet they'll happily sell you all the pieces to put one together... good luck with that ...

Nozzle problems are the worst. Nothing is worse than a 3D printer that won't extrude plastic.

And one more thing. The new extruder sucks. I'd rather have the acryllic nightmare simply because I'd have the spring and bolt I need to put an MK5 together wink
