Topic: Extruder Motor Troubleshooting

My extruder motor suddenly stopped working.  I checked the leads they seem to all be connected properly.  The fan on the motor isn't working however, I'm afraid it may have overheated and burnt out.  What steps should I take to troubleshoot it?  I'd rather not needlessly go through the hassle of getting and installing a new one, especially if it's still good.  Thanks in advance.

so, uh somehow adjusting the screw for the stepper chip got it going again.  damnedest thing.
