Topic: Repetier host is at it again

OK yes I'm still using .85b (it the only version that works, nothing else can connect to the printer for some reason).  Anyway, when I slice a model on my laptop that controls the printer, for some reason, this one model WILL NOT slice properly.  First attempt slicer created something that didnt even look like my model, second attempt it make the the model one solid block.  Another weird thing is my laptop takes a few hours to slice, tried it all on my desktop, slices in 10 min and the model looks fine.   The stl has been through netfab so I have no idea whats happening.  I did just realize the stl is 70mb.  Is there a file limit that repetier and handle properly before it gets screwed up?

I have used the newer versions  and agree every improvement has its its quirks and I did have some trouble getting the latest version to  connect.

Possibly a memory issue.  70mb imho is a large file.

V95F is ok but sometimes I dont want to pre test again in Netfab etc b4 printing. I simply use a version that has worked fine b4 with a file to save time & trouble. plus I here newer versions than 95f cant be installed without removing older versions kinda like Firefox does then your screwed if its got a gliche til next version. been in puters long enough to avoid such things ;^P

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Re: Repetier host is at it again

Im using v 1.05 and if you just set it under printer settings to the the com your printer is using then it should connect fine....Oh and its way better. Theres even an Android app to see the status of prints and what not

Re: Repetier host is at it again

go on to solidoodle support and re-download repetier host they have released a more recent version. cant guarantee it will fix your problem but it is worth a shot.

1.05 is giving me connection issues as well once it connects it worked but it seems to connect when it wants to. the older versions once I got it to connect the first time it connected fine after that.

Certainly an option
