Topic: Just installed new E3D now no extruder or bed heat.

As in title.  just finished installation.  All fans work, MB has green LED.
temp readout -
Extruder: 0.00C/225C Bed: 26.40C/80C  No heat on either.
Usually the extruder reads like the bed - ambient temp/desired temp.
I am sure the thermistor wires are covered to the bulb, and exposed nowhere else.  Connections from the MB to the extruder look OK.

At a loss here.  Thanx for any help.

Reading of 0deg would indicate a broken connection to the thermistor.  Do you have a multimeter?

After checking a little, both heat sensors show 0 ohms at MB plugs - both disconnected out of circuit.  I will have to check my wiring, good possibility I clipped a wire or so, or have a cold solder joint.  I installed butt connectors on all the wires to simplify changing out a fan or hot end.

OK...you should be reading about 5 on the ohms setting for the E3D thermistor(at least that's what mine is showing).

You're on the right track

Re: Just installed new E3D now no extruder or bed heat.

Found a broken thermistor wire.  So I have replaced the E3D's thermistor with the original SD one.  Didn't have time to fully check it out, but both the extruder & the bed started to heat up when they were told to.
I'll see if it runs tonight.

Off to order a new thermistor...
