Topic: Heat Beds for Da Vinci 1.0

Hey guys

I was wondering if anyone could give me some links for a decent 200x200 PCB Heatbed replacement for my printer (I live in Australia)

Thanks

Re: Heat Beds for Da Vinci 1.0

mine just stopped this morning too! I'm in Melbourne.

I haven't begun looking yet, I will try and get XYZ to do something about it. 240 hours and it dies....

Mine cracked after 2 days of use, most likely because I was too rough with it hmm

I got my printer off Kogan.com and they said I can get an official bed for $69 and $10 postage (to Melbourne)
I'm fairly sure that there are better options, that don't have glass stuck to them... for half the price
They are saying I'll void my warranty if I replace it myself too...
Also I have no idea how to replace it yet either.

Keep me posted Crocky, it would be great to work through this with someone.

While I was considering building my own machine I came across sainsmart. They are a Chinese company and sell electronic parts direct and with free shipping to USA ,UK And Australia.

the MK2 heat bed seems to be fairly common and sold by many companies.

looks like you need to solder wires and add a heat sensor and either aluminum or glass build bed . but an option to consider.

and it will likely void any warranty.

Thanks Tin,
How difficult would it be to solder the other parts on (My dad can solder) and install the heat bed?

Should be doable by anyone with basic pcb soldering skills the interesting part is knowing what resistors and leds to add .
may require  little home work.

Re: Heat Beds for Da Vinci 1.0

Yeah I thought that might be the case..

Is it possible to take a part from my current heat bed and solder it onto the new one?
(I'm new to all this)
Or perhaps just cover the cracked glass with a plastic coating or kepton tape etc? (I presume not)

I found this website while looking for different stuff awhile back:

The above is a quick search for heated beds. You can order them direct from China, with free shipping, for under ten bucks.

Aliexpress might not be a bad option for you...friend of mine who is building a 24 x 24" printer in China swears by them...

Shipping from the U.S. might be a bugger, but I got my 10 x 10 from MakerFarm and was impressed; they have an 8 x 8 as well:
