Yeah I thought that might be the case..

Is it possible to take a part from my current heat bed and solder it onto the new one?
(I'm new to all this)
Or perhaps just cover the cracked glass with a plastic coating or kepton tape etc? (I presume not)

While I was considering building my own machine I came across sainsmart. They are a Chinese company and sell electronic parts direct and with free shipping to USA ,UK And Australia.

the MK2 heat bed seems to be fairly common and sold by many companies.

http://www.sainsmart.com/mk2a-pcb-heatb … ps1-4.html

looks like you need to solder wires and add a heat sensor and either aluminum or glass build bed . but an option to consider.

and it will likely void any warranty.
Tin

Mine cracked after 2 days of use, most likely because I was too rough with it

I got my printer off Kogan.com and they said I can get an official bed for $69 and $10 postage (to Melbourne)
I'm fairly sure that there are better options, that don't have glass stuck to them... for half the price
They are saying I'll void my warranty if I replace it myself too...
Also I have no idea how to replace it yet either.

Keep me posted Crocky, it would be great to work through this with someone.
