Topic: Filament loading problem

Can someone please help????  I have followed the instructions and I am having problems with loading the filament.  When I thread it through it does not work.  I click to upload and the display shows the printer heating, and then the message insert filament appears on the display, and no matter what I do it does not load.  Can someone please give me some advice on this.  The printer is brand new.  Thanks so much. smile

Re: Filament loading problem

Make sure you insert the filament straight down. There's an optical sensor (shown as part of this post: http://www.soliforum.com/topic/6416/rem … pictures/) that you have to get past before the filament reaches the stepper.

Re: Filament loading problem

I looked at where it is threading to, and it looks like it stops and sits on two threaded wheels, if that makes since. I can take the filament and hit the threaded wheel or bolt and it moves, so it does not appear to be stuck.  It just wont grab.

Okay, I think I am getting closer.  Thanks to your pic, it looks like it was not lined up right.  Now it will upload, but it says check filament our from nozzle?  Not sure what that means.

when it loads the filament, it will eject some from the nozzle you will see it hanging out.

i had the same problem since it was my 1st time loading filament, i just had to push it in a lot more than i thuoght it had to go. Don't be scared, i dont think you can hurt it. i was hesitant as well at first.

Re: Filament loading problem

should be out from nozzle.  is there a chance the nozzle could be clogged not allowing it to flow through

I had to run through the "retry" process about 3 times before it came out of the nozzle.

Re: Filament loading problem

For me it has worked to push the cleaning wire up through the nozzle a few times.

Re: Filament loading problem

There's a lever right near to where you put the filament in. It's slightly towards the front of the printer. It's also shown on the sticker.
