Topic: Skeinforge no longer starts up

My skeinforge is no longer working. When I try executing it I get...

C:\Users\Neil\bin\Skeinforge50\skeinforge_application>skeinforge.py
You do not have Tkinter, which is needed for the graphical interface, you will only be able to use the command line.
Information on how to download Tkinter is at:
www.tcl.tk/software/tcltk/

This has only just started happening today after I installed all of the software. I had previously installed skeinforge and it was working fine. I've tried installing a 32bit version of TkInter but that didn't help.

Both Skeinforge50 and skeinforge39 that comes with the solidoodle software are complaining in the same manner.

Any ideas?

Re: Skeinforge no longer starts up

I don't know what to do about Skeinforge, python is a mystery to me, and sometimes it feels like I barely got everything put together right, especially on OSX.

In the meantime, try Slic3r

http://slic3r.org/   Click the symbol for your OS at the top of the page.

I've attached a config that should be ok to get started.

Re: Skeinforge no longer starts up

I found the ini file in another thread. I sliced it with slic3r and I've printed something out!

It's a small strap holder for a friend who lost one from his snow shoe. I think I'm extruding too much as the piece seems too fat compared to the original...

Re: Skeinforge no longer starts up

My guess just from seeing that is something wrong with the orbit command?
