Topic: SD2 not extruding at all
I have a Solidoodle 2 Expert that I bought in March. It worked fine until about a month ago, when it started randomly clogging, sending the filament out through the front below the motor (MK5 extruder body), and creating a giant tangle. It kept getting worse, with the motor skipping while trying to force the filament. I took the SD stock hotend off and removed the barrel and nozzle from the heater block. I heated them with a torch until they were clear. While reassembling, I broke the barrel off in the nozzle.
I ordered a similar nozzle/barrel/heater/thermistor on ebay. When it arrived, I assembled it, and it did the same thing- a little plastic would come out, and the motor would skip. While fooling with it, I broke the PEEK. Ordered a new PEEK a different hotend kit, and got a "J-Head Type" hotend on ebay. It's homemade out of machined nylon(?) and pipe fittings, but it worked. I printed several new z-stop screw holders, since the j-head was a lot longer than the stock hotend.
Then it started doing the same thing- no extrusion, skipping motor.
I got the new PEEK and hotend kit. Assembled it, printed one thing, now it is doing the same thing- no extrusion, skipping motor. I just heated the barrel and nozzle with the torch, and cleaned them with a jeweler's file- there is nothing in them. The filament will slide through by hand, but on the machine, it won't extrude, and it skips. I've tried temps from 185c to 220 c, PLA and ABS. Nothing.
Help please?
