Topic: Z offset remains fixed

The Z offset in my DS4 remains the same at 5mm even after I have changed the printer settings at .3mm. Any suggestions to solve it greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but as I understand it you're seeing a 5mm gap between the bed and the nozzle? Please forgive the presumption, but it sounds like this is a new machine (which is exciting!).

If there's a gap, press the z home button in repetier host, and if it's still there after the bed re-homes, you will need to adjust your z-stop, by winding up the black wheel at the back of the case and pressing z home again until the nozzle is just on the bed surface.

If the machine is brand new, there are some steps you'll need to go through to get started, particularly bed levelling and extruder calibration. This is all covered well on www.soliwiki.com - your printer is functionally very similar to the older models shown, and can be set up in much the same manner. Re: Z offset remains fixed

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. You understood the issue exactly. All of your suggestions are the correct steps and were followed and still it did not work. Yes, it is a new machine and it has been a challenge. But I am determined to make it work.

The issue has been resolved with the help of Solidoodle Support after spending over 2 hours cleaning my computer and re installing all the pertinent programs.

Just don't know what was wrong and probably will never know. I am just happy that today I was able to finally print my first object.

Cheers to Australia from the USA

Glad it worked out in the end, and good to hear that SD support helped solve your issue.
This road can be long, it can be fun, but it's always interesting - please feel free to ask questions any time. Happy printing!
