Re: Ninjaflex...

Seems like something fun to play around with. Only thing that makes me nervous is the color selection. It is the same picture of the same spool...they just photoshopped the color instead of taking a few extra pictures.
That makes me want to wait until there are some in depth reviews.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Re: Ninjaflex...

I bought a spool of black not too long ago for making grips and shoe insoles.  I haven't been able to print with it because with the stock extruder it just wants to curl around the gear.  I already have a bowden E3d here to install, and currently printing Lawsy's carriages.

I tried quite a few different temperatures and feed rates to no avail.  It would act as if I couldn't melt it fast enough before the pressure required to push it down just sent it in another direction above the hot end.  I will have some downtime from work soon so I'm am going to overhaul the printer.

The filament by itself is very very flexible, i can tie it in knots no problem.

Bowden SD3, Rumba, E3D hotend, Mk5 with RtRyder changes, Direct drive Y axis and bearings, GT2 pulleys and braided fishing line, Lawsy linear bearing conversion, M3 Z screw.

Re: Ninjaflex...

I'm using EcoFlex from Makergeeks.com and getting great results. This did require a E3D upgrade and printing a filament guide to keep it from bending on the way into the hot end.

Printing 1.75mm EcoFlex (Black) http://www.makergeeks.com/flecbl1.html
E3D at 230C
~25mm/s

Re: Ninjaflex...

Got a free sample of this, and they said it worked fine on the sd3, as they had just tested it the day before.

Overkill is underrated!!!

Same issue here, it just curls around the gear.

Any ideas to fix it? I would rather make this work with the stock extruder.

I was thinking of something I could jam in there to stop it from wanting to go underneath the wheel, but can't think of anything. I tried printing something but couldn't print it thin enough to stick in there.

My SD3:  Clear plexiglass case, case heater, X axis stabilizer, Z axis stabilizer, thumb screws, filament guide, heatsinks on all motors, extruder fan, controller fan, heatsinks on motherboard, Y rod pillow block, USB and Power on/off switch, fully calibrated including trimpot tuning. Am I missing anything?
