Should I expect an early March email or do you think it will be more mid-March?
We plan on being totally caught up on orders by next Friday.

Order ID: 21502
Date Ordered: 02/04/2014
Shipped: 02/21/2014 It has been almost a week and the UPS tracking still has not updated. I emailed support asking why that could be. They said it has happened in the past where a label was created and UPS has not picked it up yet. He said that he would find out what was going on with the printer. That was around 2pm yesterday and I have not heard anything since. Has anyone else been in this situation? I just want to be sure it is in fact going to come and I'm not just waiting for something that has been lost for almost a week now. Is it too late to cancel my order and get a full refund? I really don't want to do that, but if the thing isn't going to show up anyway I don't see why I shouldn't. Could it be it was mistakenly marked as shipped when it is really just "OK to Ship" and this wait should be expected?
@josefcub- Ooh! I ordered one day after you so I hope I get an email tomorrow. ![]()
Ordered SD3 on 01 Jan 2014
Shipped 07 Feb 2014
Arrived 28 Feb 2014
So, when USPS says '6-10 days' they really mean anything up to a month... ![]()
Excited... Too bad I'm moving house right now and it would be irresponsible of me to set it up just yet!
I wonder if they process the orders as they come in or if certain products get "priority". It would suck if us poor SD2 guys get put on a back burner so they can get out more of the top dollar ones.

I hope you do too! I've had mine since Monday, and I've been busy playing the calibration dance. So exciting!

For Australia, yes.
Sorry, international shipping with USPS kind of sucks.

No, but we do ship different printers on different days.
Sorry, international shipping with USPS kind of sucks.
And hugely expensive
It shouldn't be that expensive or difficult when you consider as a comparison one can get an entire printer, via fedex, door to door from overseas to Australia for $50... in 3 days from order to arrival of the printer.. Where as that's nearly what you want to charge ($45) to send a t-shirt to Australia - that will take a month....
Anyway - I'm aware that we are never going to see the situation improved, so I'll go away again now....

Somebody made a label and didn't ship it. We rectified the problem as soon as UPS confirmed this with us.
@solijohn- Thanks for the info. A lot of people are pretty hard on you guys but I've tried running my own business, twice and it isn't easy. It's hard to find good people, completely on board, that you can afford. I believe you guys are doing your best and aim to improve.
I'm a believer of "you get what you pay for" and for me, the SD2 is an amazing value. Spend a little less get a lot less and, it would take at least another $400 to get something a little bit more from someone else and to me it doesn't seem worth it. Maybe experience will change my opinion over time but we'll just have to wait and see.
I may get lucky and get one of the "golden units" but I expect to have to calibrate, level and, fine tune it. At least I get to do all of that and learn hands on about what I need to build one next. I've read enough to know that filament in and of itself is its own set of issues, settings and calibration. I see the SD2 for what it is, a pre-assembled introductory unit. I guess I just know what I'm getting into. Thanks for offering the SD2 at the price you do. It put 3d printing within my reach.
I also understand the pains of international shipping. USPS puts an estimate on delivery time but once it enters a customs office it's really out of their hands. I don't know the details and it may even just be a coincidence but, it appears that some businesses have a better relationship with their respective customs offices than others. You can order the same thing from the same city, form 2 different businesses, anywhere in the world and it seems that one will come a week or two apart from the other.
I appreciate your efforts as a smaller business and understand that you don't have the infrastructure of Dell or Apple or MakerBot. (Who, through my research, wasn't doing that much better than SD in the customer support field until Stratasys put a bunch of money behind them. I think that if SD got a backer like that, you'd be at least their equal in that department and still provide a better value. Maybe if you were only making $2000 printers back then, you would have gotten Stratasys' attention.)
I was sent my email today. Would it be safe to assume it won't actually leave until Monday?

Spare parts for my printer after accidentally breaking the heating chamber...
Very eager to get my hands on the parts, especially since I'm in the UK, and I have to wait for shipping and then flipping customs! ![]()
Otherwise, SD3 rules! Very useful for printing off samples for clients to see how their products will look!!!
Solijohn, any clue as to what day spare parts ship from your factory? They are all marked as in stock!!!

Should be out in the next 7-10 days at worst.
I ordered an SD3 on 2/14 and it has been in production since Thursday or Friday. How long does the production normally take?
Order #21743
Trust me, there isn't a rush, I'm just really excited to get it.

I had this same thing happen to me. My delivery address and billing address were different so I had to email them with a PDF of a utility bill or something like that. Its a fraud prevention thing. I spoke with Solidoodle both on the phone and through email and was assured both times that your spot in line is based on your order date, not when it gets marked "OK TO SHIP". I was also told that until the order get marked " OK to ship" the money out of your account, but they haven't accepted payment from PayPal yet. Like I said, I had the same problem and everything went fine for me and my order is " in production".
Hope this helps

I ended up talking to someone over the phone on Friday and they said they would ship one on Monday... now its Tuesday and I call up and the person has no idea whats going on and they have to call me back... If anything is even being done I'm being kept in the dark about it. This whole situation is starting to get aggravating. The lack of communication and action by the customer service is terrible... I understand a long wait but it has been over a month since I first placed my order and it still has not shipped... I'm being dicked around like a fool. Feels like I just got scammed out of $800.

I got my CC statement today and they definitely charged it on 2/21. If there's a problem they haven't communicated it to me yet, a week and a half after ordering.. I'm sure they have lots of orders to fulfill, so I'm not too worried, but I do hope to see some activity on this soon.

Its crazy that they still have these problems, even though they've been around almost 3 years now.
Thomas, I'm sure you didn't get scammed. Unfortunately, being this disorganized and slow to respond is just par for the course for the company, it seems. There are dozens of people with stories like yours in this thread alone.
@Solijohn- Hey FYI I got my printer today. getting ready to unbox now. USPS didn't have info on the tracking number you provided. Not sure who's end that was on but I figured I'd let you know. My work sometimes has issues with USPS and tracking numbers so it may just be a phone call. Just figured I'd let you know in case you do have an issue in house.
I'll look at it again later and tomorrow and give you a quick update. Not trying to be a thread jacker.
