Topic: J-Head PEEK clogged with PLA
Swapped out the original extruder for a J-head a few days ago and haven't been able to successfully print with it.
It was extruding freely for the first few dozen mm when I first tried it, but then it became clogged and the hobbed bolt was stripping the filament.
I removed the filament, and unscrewed the peek from the nozzle. I then removed the set screw and PTFE liner. It looks like the filament melted further up the PEEK, in a space between the liner and the beginning of the nozzle screw, then hardened. I'm unable to screw the nozzle back in now that the plastic has hardened.
I've been googling around, but the recommended bathing in acetone obviously won't work with PLA.
What's the best way to remove the clogged PLA from inside the PEEK barrel?
Thanks as always
