Topic: Printing issues (Walls look like slinkies)

I'm trying to figure out what might be causing my prints to look so horrible.
I have printed several different types of squares and cubes and the sides are see through.
The layers are not sticking together.

When I first got my SD3 I leveled the bed, printed and everything was perfect.

Now I had to get a new Acrylic Assembly with a new hot end, plus I reloaded my laptop and had to reinstall all the software.

Steps I have taken:
Leveled bed
Calibrated the Extruder
Tested flow rate with a cube and it shows .41mm wall thickness

Upgraded from REP .85 to .95, they both do the same thing.

It seems that I'm just missing a setting but I'm not sure what.
I have read so much on the forums with different suggestions that I don't want to do anything counter productive.

Any ideas would be awesome.

***Forgot to mention***
Temps are 195 and 95
Bottom of cubes print perfect and are very strong.

Thanks in advance.

Well I would guess not enough flow.  I'm sure your calibration process is accurate but nothing says calibration better than good prints.  Juice up the flow.  I would also try increasing the hot end temp.  Each hot end will work best at a different set point.

Thanks I will give that a try.

Also just noticed the extrusion multiplier was defaulted to .6, I changed to 1 to test.

.41mm wall thickness is for 0.35mm nozzles, pretty sure you have a 0.4mm nozzle so shoot for .48-.50mm wall thickness.

elmoret, I think you are correct, I went back to the Solidoodle buy page and it shows that the part I probably received is .4mm

I checked the 8x8 default setting and the Extruder Size shows .4
So I need to change flow rate for .4 and that should get me closer?

Thanks again for all the help

elmoret, thanks I think that got it extremely close.
walls averaged out at .50 on the cube.

I will continue to tweak and see if I can make it better.

Thanks again for everyone's help!!!
