Topic: Help with extruder dragging through prints

So what is happening is every time a layer finishes or it is just doing a solid layer it seems the extruder will drag through the just done layer while it is traveling or if doing a solid layer the plastic will sort of curl around the extruder like it is pushing too hard and dragging through it while it is putting it down. The 2nd one is harder too explain and I have tried to adjust the Z-Axis away from the bed but instead of not dragging through it it just doesn't stick even with hairspray, kapton tape, and heated bed and a glass bed too but the glass bed just makes it not stick at all. See the attached pictures for clarification on the dragging.

(Sorry about the bed lighting in the pictures but the printer is in a semi-dark spot and had to light it with my tablet)

Re: Help with extruder dragging through prints

First off it looks like your over extruding and you need to do some calibration.
http://www.soliwiki.com/Main_Page#Calibrations
Second as far as Z-height goes set it right once on glass basically squish till it sticks the way you want on the first layers.  Brim is good for checking this.
I don't know what temp your bed is at but run it up a bit say 105.
Do you have an enclosure?  Wrap the printer with some Saran Wrap until you come up with a more permanent solution.

I will try those and I am running at 100C but it usually hovers around 97C.

Re: Help with extruder dragging through prints

Focus on the extrusion calibration and extrusion multiplier.

Re: Help with extruder dragging through prints

What do you mean by extrusion calibration and extrusion multiplier? The only calibration directly related to calibration on the page you sent is extrusion stepper and flow rate.

Re: Help with extruder dragging through prints

Sorry.... same thing basically you want it to pull 100mm of filament when you tell it to pull 100mm's
then you set the Extrusion multiplier till your single wall thickness matches .42 for .35 nozzle or .48 for .40 nozzle
