Topic: Z-axis moving after finished print.

Hi,

I switched to the newest version of the Repetier software today.

I have ironed out most of the problems, but this problem is giving me a headache.

When I stop a print, the Z-axis keep moving downwards. This also happens when the print is finished.

I use KISSlicer for slicing with the same settings as before.

Anyone knows what causes this?

Re: Z-axis moving after finished print.

I believe it's a feature of Repetier, that way the nozzle doesn't just sit atop the completed print once it ends the given g-code.  Other host software options such as Octoprint don't do this.

It just keeps lowering Z untill it bends the bed in the bottom of the printer. Any way to stop this?

Solidoodle 2 btw.

May be a long shot but in Repetier-Host under "Printer Settings" got to the printer tab and make sure that Park Position is set to Z-min=0.  May then check the "go to park position after job/kill"

Re: Z-axis moving after finished print.

I tried this now. It parks the head and the Z axis keeps moving downwards really slow. It I press "stop motor" in repetier, nothing happens. I have to use the emergency stop. It then parks the head and bed.

Also thanks for the help so far!

Re: Z-axis moving after finished print.

Hi,

I have now looked further into this. It seems like when a job ends, the printer lowers the build platform by 50mm regardless of what the value is at the finished print. Anyone have any info on this. I also updated the firmware, but to no avail.

I have also tried editing the values in repetier, but the bed always lowers by 50mm when a job is ended.

I tried updating repetier to 0.95f. Bugs gone..

Compare your end g-code to this one and report back:

Re: Z-axis moving after finished print.

I used the same gcode on old (solidoodle homepage) and new (0.95F) version. Sliced with KISSlicer.

However, it is all good now. I tried this on two computers with Windows 8/8.1 and I had the same problem both places.

My next print will be the mk5 extruder along with some other things. Thanks for the help!
