I tested an android app for running gcode on my Nexus 7, and I was able to manually move the head around and wot-not, but I've never used it for a full print job. You'd probably need something like a wireless charger to keep it powered during the whole print job with all the sleep modes turned off.
i have a Surface RT with an ARM processor id really like to be able to use. but as far as i know none of the software is compiled for the ARM... and windows RT sucks
Look at Octoprint for Android or Raspberry Pi.
+1 for Octoprint!
Unfortunately, the surface RT uses an ARM processor, and therefore won't be compatible with just about all types of host software. If you can install Python, you can try to use Lawsy's Visprinter http://www.soliforum.com/topic/2205/vis … -software/ or even possibly Octoprint! I have no idea if it would be able to use the usb however, as Windows RT likely handles them differently. Most importantly, this is all in theory! If you could run Ubuntu or android on it, then you would have many more options.
I am using a Surface Pro 2 128gb. But it has a a i5 processor.

Any good?
Hows the slicing speed?
Running on MS Surface Pro 2 256, sw runs with no compatibility issues.
(Slicing speeds are fine ~ 8 GB RAM and Intel i5 - 4200U CPU)
