Topic: install issue with Repetier V0.95F

Hello everyone, I am new to this and trying to get up and running. I have a Solidoodle3 and I have it printing but I am on Repetier V0.85B. I have downloaded the newest version V0.95F, I am running Vista on my cumputer and I am not able to connect with the printer. I have installed the driver and Netframework 4.5 so I think and still no luck. I am sure this is not a new topic here but can someone point me in the right direction because I am not sure what I am over looking. Thanks.

Have you checked the COMM port in the new install to ensure it is set correctly?

did anyone ever figure this out? my comm port is set correct, the program runs fine, it can slice and everything, it just won't connect to my printer, it has commands waiting when i "connect it". i am able to get it to turn green like its connected, it just wont operate with my printer.

Actually I think GrJimmy figured it out.  He lives just down the street from me and he is working right now.  I'll ask him to respond when he gets a minute.

Doesn't the firmware specifically look for 250,000?

Actually SOLIDOODLE instructions state 115,200 for Printrboard, I use 250000 for SANGUINO board

Mike,

Just tried testing on Printrboard and I get the same thing with .95f.  I see 6 commands waiting no matter what Baud rate I set it to.

However, Under Printer settings, If I change the RESET ON CONNECT to "disabled" It appears to connect but I get a ton of errors about "extruder switched off" (OF COURSE it's a bare board so would expect that).  Check that and let me know what happens

i ran through all the settings with the reset on connect under printer settings as well as the baud rates, do some of the earlier versions work?

is there something to do with the firmware? like i remember having to allow something to go through like i had to allow the connection between my port and the the printer and in windows 8 i had to go into recovery mode or something, do i have to do that again?

Mike,

I have to check previous version when I get home.  Odd I was able to get it connected with just diabling the reset on connect.  then again I am using windows 7 x64.  will also have to check on win 8 laprtop later tonight

Alright Might I went through every iteration of Repetier and .85b, .90c and .95f all work on my windows 7 machine and only thing I had to change to get it to work with .90c and .95F was the reset on connect had to be set to disable.  I even have all 3 versions installed in separate directories on my system.

I was reading however that there seems to be a problem with WIN 8 and installs.  One link I was reading on reprap forum was stating that with Wn 8 you needed to do a complete uninstall an reinstall the newer version but the uninstall does not remove all the Registry keys like it should and you have to manually go in and remove the entry "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\repetier"

However... Before you go that route I would try the following.  I will have a win 8 laptop installed in a couple of hours and I will test also from this side.
1. Disable Reset on connect...
2.  try running RH .95F in compatibility mode http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/h … ows-8.html
3. Can you get your hands on a WIN7 machine to try .95f on and see if it connects?

sorry.. you need to translate it... it's not a probleme of repetier host version, it's a problem of win8

Refaire toute l'étape du dessus,

- redémarrer Repetier Host
-Réglages imprimantes et pour la donnée "port" mettre le nouveau "COM" (pour moi COM12) et bien mettre la vitesse sur 250000.

Another issue I have with win 8 is, on the manual tab it doesn't show the visual printing progress(all versions of RH).It works ok in win xp tho

SD3, E3D hotend,linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

Works fine here, as long as RH is the active foreground app. When its backgrounded or non-active, it doesn't continue plotting the OpenGL stuff... but it updates to its present position the moment its back in the foreground.

My experience on Win8.1 x64 anyway...

I'm no expert but don't you need to uncheck hide travel up top?
