That looks like fun. Yeah Tim when is that going to be in stock?
Haha. He's only just produced the first alpha version today! I still haven't really seen it, outside of that video and a Skype session in which i didn't get to see any of the hot end itself.
So... your guess is as good as mine. I can stock it within a week of them stocking it, typically - but I'd say we're at least 3 months away from that.
Exciting time to be in 3D printing.

It is amazing how quick things are developing. By next year I should be able to throw this VCR in the trash.
Oh wow. I could totally see this working. So you have that, and then a side area with brush off the print bed. And so it prints with X color, then the texture of the object you want says to switch to x color, so it goes off, extrudes a bit to clear and switch the color, brush excess filament off by going back and forth on the brush, and then resume printing. It would take a while but theoretically if you were careful with how you did the outer most shell of the object you could fully texture something..
The problem with doing it that way is waste and strings/blobs. The goal here is to make the transition on infill, so you never leave the object. That's one of the (many) benefits to single nozzle approaches.
But then how do you color stuff on the same layer differently? Maybe before it moves away to change color it can drag the nozzel inwards over the object so there isn't a string. But that's getting awefully close to that stratasys patent..
neat
