The goal here is to make the transition on infill, so you never leave the object. That's one of the (many) benefits to single nozzle approaches.

]]> Wed, 15 Jan 2014 03:41:52 +0000 https://www.soliforum.com/post/46820/#p46820 <![CDATA[Re: A new 3D printer print head]]> https://www.soliforum.com/post/46816/#p46816 Oh wow.  I could totally see this working.  So you have that, and then a side area with brush off the print bed.  And so it prints with X color, then the texture of the object you want says to switch to x color, so it goes off, extrudes a bit to clear and switch the color, brush excess filament off by going back and forth on the brush, and then resume printing.  It would take a while but theoretically if you were careful with how you did the outer most shell of the object you could fully texture something..

It is amazing how quick things are developing.  By next year I should be able to throw this VCR in the trash.
