any ideas? or do i just need to make my walls thicker?

I encountered this before,
Firstly ensure your bed is leveled, then if it still happens,
You might need to realign your pulleys, instructions can be seen here,
After the pulley realignment, lastly you might need to calibrate the Steps in your EEROM for the XY Stepper motor. Do this by printing out the calibration cube.

Are you using slic3r?
My SD3: Clear plexiglass case, case heater, X axis stabilizer, Z axis stabilizer, thumb screws, filament guide, heatsinks on all motors, extruder fan, controller fan, heatsinks on motherboard, Y rod pillow block, USB and Power on/off switch, fully calibrated including trimpot tuning. Am I missing anything?

yeah using slic3r 0.9.9. my circles are horrible too. im trying to calibrate the whole thing all over again. I used the belt calibration videos, the one using the scale and the other one on vimeo, where you take the motor off and slide untill the rod stops traveling .... and that made things worse. so not im using triffid hunters calibration guide. i think i have a long day ahead of me.

I had much the same issue not that long ago,
The trick is not getting frustrated 
When the Y belts are loose and the screws undone, make sure the travel is smooth across the back rod, on mine the screws had dug a tiny gouge in the rod... Making auto-alignment by the back and forth motion of the carriage useless.
The most important thing I found for the infill touching was belt tension.
Above everything else they all need to be on equal-ish tension.

after you loosen the pin screws, should those pulleys slide anywhere? mine move about 2 mm than stop, like they're still connected by something.

One could assume they're stuck in a similar gouge in the rod.
I bashed mine over the gouge and attempted to wear it smooth a little... But if you can get the pulleys aligned without bashing then that's probably a good idea.
That said, it may be a good idea to ask Solidoodle support, they may be able to suggest something less violent.

But violence is so much fun ..... lol. I figured it was something like that, just wanted to make sure there wasn't something else to loosen before i engaged in the violence.

I'm getting the same problem and it's not letting my pulleys go far enough to line up in place like they want to. But also I don't think the holes for the screws on my carriages that hold the belts on are centered either...
