Topic: SD4 or Fusematic

I'm a new to the world of 3d printing.  I've been doing as much research as possible and have come down to these 2 3d printers.

SD4($1000) is enclosed and seems to have a great support forum but technology seems to be a bit outdated.

Fusematic ($850) has great technology (I think?) but is not enclosed.

Price point is pretty similar.

Which one would you go for and why?  I heard the Fusematic extruder can be difficult but why? Thanks for your help in advance

Re: SD4 or Fusematic

Two different printers there... but the tech on both is pretty standard.

SD = direct extruder FM = Bowden extruder
SD = XY printhead FM = Mendel style sliding bed
electronics... about the same

It all depends on your needs/wants the bowden setup can speed things up quite a bit but needs to be really tuned to get good results when doing so... what are you looking to print and why?

Sounds like the FM is easy enough to put together even for newbies...

Re: SD4 or Fusematic

It's my first printer.  I'm just looking at printing random things for fun or usefulness around the house.  Nothing specific.  Thanks for explaining both.

I'm in Korea so my concern is getting parts in the future.  It looked like the FM would be easier to upgrade.  Seeing all the complaints about the lack of revisions that could have been made from the SD3 to the SD4 I guess scares me a bit.

They know of these issues but decided to not make any fixes.  Which would you consider?  Which do you have?
