Topic: Xbox PSU?

I rarely play my xbox 360 original model anymore and so I have what I believe to be a 203 (or 175) watt power supply with the same 3 prong connector as the solidoodle (as it looks in pictures, haven't received my solidoodle yet) so in theory, should this 203 (175)watt PSU work as an upgrade and allow for the addition of an extruder fan without taking power away from the motors? I have a very limited understanding of electricity so wattage and voltage and all is confusing to me. Is the 150W supply that comes with the S4 really a problem? If I add an extruder fan will the 150 watts still be enough? That's why I started thinking about the xbox PSU.

If you add an typical 40mm 12v extruder fan you will be adding maybe 1-2 watts, the original PSU should be fine.

There are ways you can dedicate the two supplies, one for the heated bed, and one for the rest of the system...But it is not necessarily worth it. smile

I think you'll be good for now, especially if you are not 100% comfortable with wiring things.

I took the origional power suppluy and added these terminal blocks to it for fans and lights that are always on taking a load off the main power supply.
