Topic: Bizarre issues all of the sudden

Hello,

We have been running a solidoodle 2 and solidoodle 3 happily for many months now with very few problems but we have just run into something really weird...

I started a print, it heated up the bed and extruder and began printing...about halfway through the second layer, the head just stopped moving. RH was still sending commands and it was drawing the object on the display. I killed the job and attempted to restart.

Now whenever I make a slice and attempt to start the job, it starts running the job without heating the bed or the extruder.

When I've manually heated the bed and extruder and then started the job, it does the same thing, stopping halfway through the second layer or so.

I have tested this on known good G-code files, on both the solidoodle 2 and 3, and in different instances of RH

We have been using Slic3r for a while with no problems, we even tested slicing with the newest and older versions of Slic3r and are still having problems..

We are on the verge of uninstalling everything and starting over , kind of at wits end.

Thanks for any help or insight you could provide!

-Dan

So you are having the same issue with both printers?
If so are they both being run from the same PC?

Is there a chance you have something set on your PC that is turning off or on such as standby mode or screensaver?
If nothing has changed on the PC then I would suspect some form of COM PORT issue.  Past that someone else will have to chime in here.

can you post up a copy of the error log on RH's screen? there might be a clue in it as to whats going on.
