Topic: Flexible cable Guides/QU-BD NanoLinks

As I was in the process of rewiring my extruder, I took the opportunity to install a flexible cable guide or chain to old all my wiring.    This particular model is from QU-BD and they refer to it as Nanolinks.

Has anyone else installed these or something similar.?  I'm particularly interested in how you routed the chain (through which hole in the back, behind what rod, etc).

My problem is that the cable guide binds when the head moves to the back left corner, there just isn't enough flexibility in it to allow the print head to go there, so the guide bunches up in the corner, and there's not enough room for it there.

I'll post some pics later on what I'm talking about.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...

Re: Flexible cable Guides/QU-BD NanoLinks

Thanks for the link, it really helped.

While I'm not interested in printing a new cable chain, or the guide on that link, the photo they had there, helped clear everything up.

My problem was in the way I had built the chain, and the way I had mounted it to the extruder.  I had originally built it to flex in both directions, then I installed it as you see in the first image.  This created the problem of the chain flexing behind the extruder and bunching up behind it when I moved the head to the extreme left.

The picture in the Thingiverse link showed me the error in my thinking.  So I rebuilt the chain to be flexible in one direction, except for the last few links at the back where the chain goes through the hole.  I also flipped the chain around where it mounts to the side of the extruder.  It now works like a charm.
