Topic: question about motherboard traces and E3D hotend

Do I need to make any physical changes to my printer's motherboard to run the E3D hotend?  I've already ordered a 300 watt power supply.  Just want to make sure the extra power isn't going to burn out the board.  I should mention I have one of the original SD2 sangoilo boards with separate driver boards.

Nope, good to go.

No need to change anything, like Elmoret says you're good to go smile

The problem some people were having with the sang boards was with the bed heater circuits especially when using higher power heated beds.

E3D draws 40w peak, SD hot end draws 25w peak... but they draw about the same on average. At any rate, 40w is fine for any of the SD boards.

Ummmm, actually that's one of the other mods I'm doing.  But I am changing the heated bed to the new one from solidoodle.

just make sure that you have good connections when you change out the wiring. ---> http://www.soliforum.com/topic/277/melt … -terminal/
