Really it takes you guys almost 2 weeks just to ship?  If I had known that I would have sent my business elsewhere.  You really need to fix this. I know you are working things out.  I know I will enjoy the machine and it will be worth the wait but 2 weeks to ship a finished product is too long. Especially leading up to Christmas.
Thank you for the info I do appreciate it.  Have a wonderful Holiday.

It says 2-3 weeks right on the product description page:

Shipping Time:
Usually Ships within 2-3 weeks when listed as "In Stock"

It boggles my mind that people are willing to throw down several hundred dollars without reading first.

Please understand that it is the Holidays.

We aren't a big box merchant - we have regular factory staff that have to go home for the Holidays. To put things in perspective, those who ordered the first batch of Solidoodle 3's did not receive them until February. The first batch of Solidoodle 4's should be coming *very* soon.

From our FAQ:

"Are your machines actually “In Stock”? I’m confused as to the actual wait time. Solidoodle does not keep machines “In Stock”. Instead, machines are “Made to Order”. This means that we do not keep extra machines around, and only begin making a machine after it is ordered. The current lead time for machines is two to three weeks for the SD2 and SD3 models, and three to four weeks for the SD4 model."

We are very clear about the lead time. I'm sorry that our lead times were not clear to you.

Was there a pressing need for the machine in your time frame?

Often the support guys can work some magic in a pinch, but we try to ship everyone's machine in the order that the orders were made.

Re: Orders Shipping List

Yes I read that.  Your STORE FRONT and the line item I picked i.e. the machine I bought said "usually ships in 7-10 days"  in the store on the day I ordered November 14th.  Not the FAQ. Today since the store has been updated it says 2-3 weeks
I read anything and EVERYTHING on your website (elmoret).  As the FAQ page is usually the page that gets thrown up and updated once and a while I took the 7-10 day lead time that is on the more often updated store to be my lead time.  I realize you are a small company and you have lives outside of work.  As do I.  If the store said 2-3 weeks when I ordered I would have reconsidered.   That being said I am fast approaching 3 weeks (in 3 days) and nothing has shipped yet.
It is ok.  It is what it is.  Just please note you should work on that and keep the store updated.  As said before I appreciate the work Solidoodle does in bringing an affordable product to the masses.
I know you are having growing pains, I am pointing this out to help. As I said I know when I recieve my machine I will love it and it will be worth the wait.  I'm sure you all get hounded by impateint people like me all the time and I am not helping matters so I will wait for my shipped email pateintly instead of wasting your time posting to my questions on the forum. Keep up the good work and I look forward to using your more often updated lead time store front in the future when I order a second machine.  OK shutting up now.

Re: Orders Shipping List

I know it said 2-3 weeks shipping time when I purchased the SD3 on black friday but just so I get my panning correct, how close to the EAT will it actually be? I know you guys also probably got a bunch of orders so I was curious as to when I should expect it to arrive. Thanks!

Re: Orders Shipping List

Ordered on the 30th of November. Order ID: #19685. This wait time for a doodle sucks. It's like standing in line at the DMV. There's so many things that you could be doing, but you just stand around waiting. I'm half tempted to start building my own reprap now. It certainly beats waiting for my order status to change from "Processed" to whatever mystical step is next.

Re: Orders Shipping List

People talking about a 2 week wait time brings a smile to my face when I remember how I waited 13-14 weeks.

Re: Orders Shipping List

I feel like I must have gotten lucky that my printer only took like four days to arrive after I paid for it..

Re: Orders Shipping List

Solidoodle looks like a great company making a good product, but there's plenty of 3D printers hitting the market around the same price point that don't have a 3 week wait before shipping. I understand that there is a desire to build a quality product.  I'm sure to enjoy my doodle3, but with doodle4's going into Micro Centers around the country this manufacturing process is going to require a major kick in the butt. Soon...

Re: Orders Shipping List

I ordered my SD4 on 2 Dec, order #19722.

Anxiously (but patiently) waiting to see how the SD4 shipping goes.  The web site says 3-4 weeks, so it could possibly be the new year before it arrives.

I have hopes of making car parts with mine: clips, connectors, interior trim pieces.  I have some old cars that those types of parts are nearly impossible to find.

Re: Orders Shipping List

No one fear. The Shipping times aren't ALL going to be 3 weeks for the SD3. They have to give an estimate so people don't freak out thinking it is going to ship the day after they buy it. The listing says 2-3weeks lead time when listed in stock so I was more than ecstatic when I saw it shipped in just one week. I purchased mine on 11/29/13 and it is in transit to my house. I will post when it arrives (hopefully everything is in good working order). Great job so far Solidoodle Team! A+

Re: Orders Shipping List

Well I ordered a SD3 on 10/31/2013 and despite emailing support and getting a reply that it would ship the Monday following thanksgiving I still have no indication that has happened.  No change in the "status", no email or tracking number, no nothing...
I think these guys are all wound up in their new SD4 model trying to grab all the pre-Xmas sales they can.  They already got my money so what's the rush...

Oh, and when I purchased it the store front did NOT say 2-3 weeks.  So don't go calling the customers whiners just because SD is disorganized.

This was definitely the case for me when I ordered on the 5th of November. It seems like they manage to lose some of the orders and pretend that they actually know what they're doing. you just have to complain A LOT and then they will start to listen to you.

Yes... Shhhh.... let them work... let them work...  wink

#20016 SD3 ordered today (12/10/13)  Desperately hoping and believing in Christmas miracles, as I ordered this for my wonderful hubby as a gift.  He is an engineer and in a graduate program trying to take it to the next level.  His Dad, sister, brother-in-law and brother are all engineers too.  I think this will also be a great way for him to connect with his son.  I have a feeling this machine will get a lot use... and will be worth the financial gymnastics I did to pull it off.
fingers and toes crossed!

Re: Orders Shipping List

It will be a good thing.  My sons love watching the box buzz and whir and the come up with a little piece for them to look at.  Some day, they'll be designing for it, but for now they love that dad can make things come alive for them.

Good Luck, Oct!  I believe in Santa Clause!  I believe in Santa Clause! I believe in Santa Clause!

Re: Orders Shipping List

Mine came today. Every thing looked OK out of box. I plugged it in and started printing. It printed well but I looks as if I received a refurbished machine. The X carriages look burned with the nozzle of a hot glue gun and there appears to be hot glue holding the x carriage bars. Also, the y belt gear holder, at the front left of the machine, became extremely loose. That side belt was extremely loose when I received it. I kept having to restart prints because every time the belt became more and more loose. I come to find out that the y belt/gear holder was semi glued to the case and just turned to the side so much the stepper motor couldn't even pull the belt. I spent the last 3 hours trying to fix it and am hoping I can print a new one. I am very displeased right now. And I start to think that the reason mine only took a week to build and ship is because it is a refurbished one.

Re: Orders Shipping List

Received SD3 - 6 weeks to the day
Ordered:  October 31
Received: December 12

After several more emails to SD support they finally shipped my SD3 and I received it yesterday.  It was in good condition except the power supply was loose inside the unit. Didn't appear to have damaged anything though.  Everything went fine except the fan and led connectors appeared to be reversed on the control board (at least I assume they are to be plugged in as labeled on the Plexiglas cover). Software install went as expected (on win8.1 so you have to jerk around with the driver install) and Repetier sees the machine and controls the temps just fine. However the steppers don't move under manual control.  I don't even see any commands being sent out so it's debug time...but as an engineer who builds a lot of stuff like this I can say it's exactly what I wanted.  The perfect machine to hack.
EDIT: It was a com port problem. Everything is working now...

Ordered my Solidoodle 2 Expert on Dec 6 and has now been marked as Ok to Ship for 5 days. Is this usual; do they ship on only a few days of the week?

Re: Orders Shipping List

I ordered my SD2 Expert mid last year when the lead time was unknown.  It ended up being 20 weeks.  Today we ordered our second printer, an SD4.  That is my testament to the company and to the product.

OK to ship means that your order is approved; there are no problems. It doesn't necessarily mean that shipping is imminent.
