Topic: Another Case & Printer Mod - Updated

I am in the process of modding my SD3 & at the rate I am going it might be done at Christmas.

here is a list of my mods i have planned (I already have components)
1. new case

2. Power supply

3.  Azteeg X3 Full Featured 3D Printer Controller v1.1 [Connectors:Screw Terminals [Terminal Blocks] Soldered][Expansion Shield:v1.1 Cover Shield w/ 2 thermocouple inputs][Stepper Drivers:5pcs SD8825 w/ Heatsink]

4. Helios 200 Heat Bed 12V

5. Endstops &   Epcos 100k Thermistors

6. E3d Hotend

Very nice!
Make more spool holders. You will want more! Trust me!

I have two spool holders in my case. I am using a golden rod in there too to keep my nylon and everything else dry.

Hey dubbs, looks good and I like that you are adding a switch to the encasement.  Always found it a pain in the tail to unplug the 'doodle when it was done.  Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Oooo I wouldn't do that if I were you
Your going to dry up the oil on the rods

Powder coated steel enclosure, 1/4" Surface grounded hardened aluminum plate, MK2A Heat bed, .200 Polished fused quartz plate, Machined quick change hot bed mount, E3D hot end, Ramps 1.4, DRV8825 stepper motor drivers

I can add more oil when needed. Not a problem!

Yeah it will take it a while to dry it up, just be sure to add oil from time to time so it
doesn't cause you grief later on.

I use high temp lubriplate.

It's not the heat that's the issue it's the golden rod that absorbs moisture
that will cause the oil to dry
