Topic: my first really big jamming issue....
Hi guys...
Last week, the filament I was printing jammed, and was stick in the hot end for apron an hour. I pulled apart the extruder, and with the help of Lawsy, blowtorched the barrel and tip.
Yesterday I spent a few hours getting i all back together again. Filament came out, it all looked great. After a short test, I proceeded to a 2 hour print, only to have the extruder jam again 10 minutes from the end.
I have been talking to SD, but the best they can tell me is this -
"Black filament has been known to cause issues with the extruder sometimes. This is true of all filament manufacturers.
We have determined that they recycle any filament that could not be sold, melt it down again, put some black die in it, and then re manufacturer it as black filament. In reality they use many different colors of filament and mix them in this way.
Try bumping your extruder up to 210C and let me know if that helps"
I get filament coming out, after taking a guitar string and poking it threw the nozzle, but it comes out thin, and in clumps. Every time I extrude, it balls up on the head of the nozzle.
Anyone have any ideas that can save me from another strip down ![]()
