Its an SD3 with a pretty enclosure. With the electronics on the inside. Same extruder, same carriage, same bushings and belts, same Z screw.

I guess Make magazine review didn't take to heart.

Looks like a solid step in the right direction in the looks department, and an enclosure is sure going to help with print quality.  But changes that actually improve the print experience for the customer, performance, reliability?  Well, there's bed leveling screws on the bottom, a slightly better filament spool mount, and the enclosure.  And that's pretty much it.  This looks to me like it's literally an SD3 in a case.  So, a way to get people who balk at the SD3 to buy, but nothing new for anyone who already has one.

But what printers really need is a self-leveling bed :-). Which reminds me - I got some force sensitive resistors to experiment with. Maybe over the holiday I'll have time to see if they can really detect the nozzle hitting something like a shim I put on the printbed.

Perhaps it's time for that spraypaint job I've been postponing since day one?

I like the small improvements; bed and z-height thumbscrews, etc...these should be standard on all the machines.

But I do not think the snappy cover is worth a $200.00 premium.  Also, I like to have side access at times, so I would have gone with individual panels secured with magnets.

An $899.00 price would be more reasonable.  If I were in the market again, I would simply get the SD3.

The electronics aren't in the build area, it's in a separate chamber on the back with a fan.  The case has an actual back to it which extends beyond the back of the frame.

In addition to the thumbwheel and the leveling screws, I noticed that they ran the wire bundle from the extruder down to the bottom of the case so it no longer runs sideways into the Y belt.
