Topic: McMaster Carr

Hey Guys,

I wanted to try the threadless ballscrew mod and placed an order with McMaster Carr for the parts I need.  This morning I get an email saying my order has been cancelled.

Hi <justsomeguy>,

Due to the complexity of U.S. export regulations, McMaster-Carr accepts international orders only from businesses. This decision also applies to orders shipping within the United States, because it is based on the final destination of the items. We cannot accept this order or future orders.

Should I have invented a company name when placing my order?

Does anyone know a similar company that ships to individual Canadians?

I just want to make my printer work better.

Re: McMaster Carr

If you want to ship them to me, I can repack them and ship to Canada.

Re: McMaster Carr

Yeah McMaster used to ship freely to canada but changed their policy a few years ago. I think you even have to be an 'established' business for them to ship.

Re: McMaster Carr

Thanks elmoret for your generous offer which I will keep in mind.  For now, I will try to give my money to a company that seems to actually want it, if I can find one.

Re: McMaster Carr

I can understand that my business might not be worth their while and have no problem with that.  However, it really burns my britches that I got as far as placing the order including entering credit card info.  If the guy can filter my business based on entries in the web form, that same form should be able to do so before taking my credit card info!
