Topic: Glass in extruder came off whilst unclogging

Hello all

Still new to 3d printing, in cleaning a clog in my Solidoodle 3 J-extruder a piece of glass came off (at least I think it is glass). It was under the adjustable right hand side wheel and glass that pivots when you take off the spring and washers (the nonmoveable part directly underneath. This has left a gap for the filament to curl up into when printing and seems to happen during printing.

So, my question is, since I still have the piece of glass, should I attempt to glue it back on and has anyone done something similar?

You might try to glue it back together and get one more print out of the thing to make a non-oem replacement (lawsy) or get a replacement from the vendor for $15 plus unbelievably slow fulfillment and costly shipping.

Acrylic breaking while clearing a clog is not uncommon.  Do what you can to get back to printing and print yourself an MK5.

My OEM jigsaw broke in several places by the time I replaced it.

Good to know it is acrylic.

Was always thinking it would be an engineering challenge of sorts with this thing. Just got my proper spool of plastic today and I think I'll try to glue it back on and start printing some replacement parts I can find.
