Topic: solidoodle software issues

So i finally made the jump to linux ( fedora 19) after learning of the the NSA shitstorm and seeing it hark about it " 3d printing features" well im in a rut.

Repetier wont work. I know there is the issue of changing the baud rate in the marlin.pde configuration.h tab but thsis problem is i just dont know where to begin with the problems i am having with arduino.

when i use arduino 0022 i get issues saying it cant find avr-g++
when i try using latest arduino it says it something about not finding liquid.crystal

pronterface is just a no go.....doesnt extrude
repsnapper isnt playing ball either.

Does anyone know of a decent ( preferably all in one) solution for driving a solidoodle on linux?

SD2 - mirror bed - e3d v6 - extruder cooling fan - no enclosure.

Re: solidoodle software issues

I am using all fedora 19 software as I write this, and it did all (eventually) work. My discoveries are documented here:

http://home.comcast.net/~tomhorsley/har … oodle.html

I just got mine, so it came with the latest controller board and firmware, and once I found out how to copy all the settings from the windows version, everything just worked.

One good way to load firmware on an arduino system is with something like an AVRISP mkII. I see (on my board, anyway) that the header the programmer can plug into is on the board (I bought mine a long time ago for some other arduino projects - haven't used it on the solidoodle yet - probably won't unless a new firmware update comes out).
