Topic: Black stuff coming out

Hey,

So my soli 2 has been leaking black gunk into the prints. It's not burning the tops of the plastic or anything, I've actually seen little specs of black coming out of the nozzle while printing.
I'm assuming other people here have had the same problem at some point?

Anyone that can point me in the right direction for cleaning tips, or how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much!

Have you ever used a different color filament in that extruder? any evidence of impurities in the filament roll you are using... and what kind of filament?

looks normal to me...use a fine grade sandpaper on the nozzle, comes off no problem..

Yeah, I have several colours.
I bought white abs once, that was very brittle, and didn't print well. Maybe that has left black crap in the nozzle?

I use both ABS and PLA.

Hmm...I'll try this tonight, I think the black crap is actually inside though as well...

My nozzle looks like that. But I do not have black stuff in my prints. It is probably contaminants inside the current filament you are using. Change filament and purge it to find out.

I tried two filaments a while back. Trying another tonight. Still sends to be occasionally letting out some black. Almost like oil...

can we get more pictures on the print?? i am trying to see if it's the print head bumping into bumps and burning the print. when you print does the bed vibrates a lot? like a bumpy road? if thats the case, you might need to calibrate your extrusion.

and the black mark on your nozzle.. it's normal. if sand paper is too big to sand that small area, you can use knife to scrap it off. watch for the wires.

I'll take some more pictures tonight. But I know it's not the extruder bumping because I've seen the black actually come out when I'm just manually extruding with no print. It seems to be a little rarer As of last night though. Also there kind of a burning smell...
